Philip R. Greene BDS, FDSRCPS, CUEW, JP
Qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1971 and, after a post as a House Officer went into General Practice. He was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1980.
From 1972 - 1997 he worked in both NHS and Private General practice, as well as developing a practice devoted to Periodontics (treatment of problems with the gums). In 1998 he was accepted onto the newly established General Dental Council Specialist List in Periodontics and now devotes the greatest proportion of his time to periodontal practice, which includes dental implants. Philip has taught in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Manchester Dental School and periodically repeats his "Effective Periodontics" practical seminar programme for the Department of Postgraduate Dentistry at Manchester University.
He has written and lectured widely on Periodontics and related subjects and his video film, "Initial Periodontal Therapy", was awarded the Diplome d'Honneur at the 1991 International Dental Film and Video Festival in Paris. His paper "Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy - Essential and Adjunctive Methods" was published in the British Dental Journal in July 1995 and he presented a paper on subgingival antibiotic gel therapy at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology in September 1995.
Philip was the founding Chairman of the Dental Practitioners Section of the British Society of Periodontology and is an International Member of the American Academy of Periodontology. He was a founder member of the Expert Witness Institute, also being listed in the Law Society Directory and the Register of Expert Witnesses.
Philip has been preparing medico-legal reports for over ten years and has been trained in court procedure and joint-expert work. He has also been awarded the Certificate of Expert Witness Accreditation by the Cardiff University Law School.
